On the 18th of March 2008, the inventor genius Rudolf Diesel would have celebrated his 150th birthday. The City of Augsburg and MAN Diesel SE have chosen this anniversary as the perfect occasion to declare 2008 Augsburg Diesel Year.

Diesel’s impact on the city, together with its world-changing invention – the diesel engine – is set to be celebrated with a series of varied events.
